A Florida paraprofessional has been accused of having sex with a 12-year-old student, buying his silence with electronics and treats, then telling his family she would "quit and leave the area" after she was caught.

Royal Palm Exceptional Center Instruction Support employee Lauren King, 32, was charged with two counts of lewd or lascivious battery and was arrested on March 7, the Fort Myers Police Department wrote in a press release. 

King reportedly saved the student's number to send him a photo she had taken of him and his classroom friend, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital. 

Their interactions quickly escalated to sexual encounters, including in King's car and in the classroom, records show.

From Jan. 28 onward, King exchanged over 4,000 text messages with the victim, according to court documents, and repeatedly reminded him to delete their correspondence. 

In one text message, she told the student he would get into "sooooo much trouble." In another, she told him that "if they ever go through your phone, you're getting arrested."

Those messages included nude selfies and videos of sex acts performed on herself, police wrote in their affidavit. 

At one point, police wrote, King asked the student what he wanted for his birthday and said she would bring him money. After they had sex on one occasion, police wrote, she repeatedly told the child not to tell anyone about the encounter, sending him $235 and buying him an iPhone, Beats headphones and a Dell computer.

King repeatedly told the boy she loved him via text messages contained in court documents; conversely, they showed, she tried to manipulate him by telling him she was having sex with other students. 

The boy's family members reported the abuse to Fort Myers Police on March 3, according to the department. When a family member called King, police said, she told them to give her a week so she could "quit and leave the area."

A warrant was issued for King's arrest on March 6, according to court documents. 

In a statement to Fox 4, the Lee County School District wrote that it did "not tolerate this kind of behavior." 

"The employee involved was immediately removed from the school when allegations were reported pending the outcome of an investigation," a spokesperson told the outlet. 

An attorney for the victim's family told the outlet that the Lee County School District "allowed a child predator to infiltrate our most vulnerable spaces." 

"This predator targeted our client, and it was only due to his vigilant parents that she was stopped," the attorney said. "The school district bears responsibility for allowing such a dangerous individual near our children... and must own up to its critical failure in safeguarding our students."

Fox News Digital could not reach an attorney representing King for comment at press time. Her next court date in Florida's 20th Judicial Circuit is scheduled for April 8, according to court records.

Working Designs' final contribution to the Sega CD in the USA, and it's a glorious ending chapter. The finest RPG for any 16-bit CD-based system!!  Lunar Eternal Blue is a must-buy for any Mega CD owner interested in Japanese gaming. True it's an RPG and you may not be able to understand Japanese, so you'll miss half of the plot but it's Lunar Eternal Blue!

The events of the game take place a hundred years after those of the first Lunar. You control Hiro, a young treasure hunter who likes exploring various caves and ruins with his trusty companion, the wise-cracking pink flying cat Ruby (who claims to be a baby dragon). One day he meets a mysterious blue-haired girl named Lucia. She explains that she has come from the nearby Blue Star and now needs his help to defeat a dark being called Zophar. Bewitched by the girl's beauty, Hiro agrees to help Lucia and soon finds himself opposing the ruling religion of the world, and shadows from the past.

While Eternal Blue doesn't offer anything new and revolutionary to the RPG genre, it does provide a solid, traditional JRPG experience. Furthermore, it improves nearly every aspect of the original. No longer is the story about some childish "I want to be a hero!"-type adventure gone wrong, but it's a tale of a world in peril, with many plot twists and revelations that keep you playing, and a cast of interesting characters that have far more depth than the rather static ones in the original.

The graphics in the game are also quite good for its time. The character/enemy sprites and locales have a decent amount of detail, and the animated cutscenes really show what the Mega CD was capable of as a console. The music in the game is good as well, and in my opinion is nearly on par with some PS1 RPG soundtracks. Finally, the localization quality of this game is top-notch. With voice acting and tons of cool 90s pop culture references, the localization gives a certain liveliness and sense of humor that no other game at the time had. Game Arts, Studio Deen, and Studio Alex really outdid themselves with this title. For its time this was years ahead and Game Arts knew that since they later re-made it on the Saturn. Beautiful animation scenes, voice-driven dialogs, and wonderful music make this a truly magical experience.

Unfortunately, every single gaming store around the world knows this which results in Lunar Eternal Blue on the Mega CD being quite expensive. I've seen this on sale for as much as the price of a fully loaded 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max (RM 8,500)!! That's more than many shooters on the Saturn sell for. Luckily, I got this copy with a set of other goodies including my current basketball, earbuds, Sonic keychain, and shoes for less than RM 650 (^v^) Quite a lot for a 16-bit CD RPG, but anyway. I'm absolutely happy.

The game comes complete with world map and a CD single that features two vocal tracks and a short radio play. This Premium CD single is not included in the Working Designs American release. The tracks are:

Ninja Gaiden

Ninja Gaiden is an action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo for the Xbox, released in March 2004. Set in a futuristic 21st century, players control Ryu Hayabusa, a master ninja on a quest to recover a stolen sword and avenge his clan's slaughter. Inspired by Tecmo's original Ninja Gaiden series, it exists within the same continuity as Team Ninja's Dead or Alive fighting games.

Critically acclaimed, Ninja Gaiden sold 362,441 copies in North America in its first month but saw poor sales in Japan. Team Ninja released additional content via two downloadable packs, later included in a reworked version, Ninja Gaiden Black (2005). The game was ported to PlayStation 3 as Ninja Gaiden Sigma in 2007, featuring extra content and graphical improvements, and subsequently released on PlayStation Vita as Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus. The series continued with Ninja Gaiden II (2008) and Ninja Gaiden 3 (2012).

Fruit ninja

"Fruit Ninja" is a video game developed by Halfbrick, initially released on August 12, 2010. In the game, players must slice fruit thrown into the air while avoiding bombs by swiping the device's touch screen or utilizing motion controls. It offers various gameplay modes, leaderboards, and multiplayer options.

Platform Availability: Originally launched for iPod Touch and iPhone, "Fruit Ninja" expanded to other platforms, including iPad, Android devices, Windows Phone, Samsung's Bada, and Nokia's Symbian. It was adapted for Xbox 360 with Kinect support and released as "Fruit Ninja Kinect" in 2011. Versions for Windows 8, Intel AppUp, Nvidia Tegra 2 devices, HTC Vive, PlayStation 4, and an arcade version called "Fruit Ninja FX" were also developed.

Reception and Achievements: Critically acclaimed, "Fruit Ninja" saw significant success with over three million downloads by September 2010, reaching four million by December 2010, and over 20 million across all platforms by March 2011. By May 2012, downloads surpassed 300 million. Reviewers praised its addictive gameplay, low cost, and continuous support from Halfbrick, which introduced online multiplayer, achievements, and leaderboards post-launch.

Should You Upgrade The MacBook Pro M4? Things to Consider

MacBook Pro M4

Beginning in late 2024, Apple intends to update the MacBook Pro with M4 CPUs. This guide compiles all of the information Apple has available regarding their MacBook Pro M4 plans.

The M4 Update

Apple did not anticipate changing the M4’s node from the M3, which was constructed using a novel 3-nanometer technology. Although TSMC, an Apple supplier, may release updates to increase its speed and efficiency, it will still be a 3-nanometer processor.

There are rumours that Apple’s forthcoming products will have new features related to artificial intelligence; thus, the M4 will concentrate on AI. Apple is reportedly looking to enhance the M4 (as well as the A18 CPUs for the iPhone) to feature an improved Neural Engine with “significantly” more cores in order to boost performance for AI functions.

The 16-core Neural Engine found in all M3 chips has not been expanded by Apple in a number of years.

Entry-Level MacBook Pro 14-Inch

Last year, Apple discontinued the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M3 chip. New 14-inch MacBook Pros with three chip configurations have replaced it.

A regular M4 chip will be added to the $1,599 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M3 chip. Current M3 chips have 8-core CPUs and up to 10-core GPUs; M4 chips may be comparable.

Luxury 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, more powerful versions of the speedier M4 chip, will be upgraded for “pro” users.

The M3 Pro gets up to a 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU, while the M3 Max gets 16-core and 40-core. Unknown CPU and GPU enhancements for the MacBook Pro M4 and M4 Max.

Alterations to the Design?

No rumors of a MacBook Pro design change yet, and they are not due. After switching to Apple silicon in 2021, Apple redesigned the MacBook Pro design. Apple has updated the MacBook in 2012, 2016, and 2021, so expect another update in 2025 or 2026.

The MacBook Pro’s internals may get the M-series update this year.

MacBook Pro M4 Release Date

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro revamp is expected in late 2024 to early 2025, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro may get an M4 CPU in late 2024.

Like the M3 chip range, Apple might release the M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max variations all at once or over several months.

Since the M3 MacBook Pro launched in October 2023, a refresh in October 2024 would signify a year.

iPhone 15 Pro/Max

Apple’s premium iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have the most fancy features and bells and whistles. For iPhone power users, Pro variants are available.

A $999 iPhone 15 Pro and $1,199 iPhone 15 Pro Max are available. Size, battery capacity, and 5x telephoto lens technology distinguish the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which have similar feature sets.

iPhone 15 Pro Max features a 6.7-inch display, whereas iPhone 15 Pro has 6.1. The two models have the identical appearance, however the chassis and edge curvature have been somewhat updated from the ones from the previous year.

A “Ceramic Shield” front cover that provides improved drop protection, a pill-shaped Dynamic Island that contains the front-facing camera technology and Face ID hardware, and edge-to-edge OLED screens with minimal bezels are all features that are shared by both iPhones. Despite having an all-glass body, Apple added a titanium frame this year. Better than stainless steel, titanium is lighter and stronger.

Phone conversations, timers, Face ID, Bluetooth connections, and more are displayed on the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. New colour options for the two iPhones include natural, blue, black, and white titanium. Other colour options include stainless steel.

This year, the A17 Pro chip is only found in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, which are the only iPhones to use it. Both of these models are equipped with the chip. The A16 chip, which was formerly utilised in the iPhone 14 Pro variants, is now included in the model lineup of the ordinary iPhone 15. Apple’s A17 Pro is constructed on the company’s 3-nanometer node, which brings about significant gains in both performance and economy. The processor supports console-level gameplay with hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading and up to 20% faster GPU performance.

A 48-megapixel Main camera with better low-light performance, a Telephoto lens, and an Ultra Wide camera remain, but the Telephoto lens has been improved. Apple has implemented Tetraprism technology in the iPhone 15 Pro Max to facilitate a 5x optical zoom. 3x optical zoom is available on the smaller iPhone 15 Pro.
